Well, I had my amnio done this morning. I was FREAKING out about it. I walked in and it wasn't a big deal to anyone but me (surprise surprise). I was about in tears as she asked me to sign two consent forms. I didn't want to sign them and let them off the hook if anything bad was to happen to the baby. The ultrasound tech was really sweet and asked me if she could explain any of it in more depth to ease my mind...so I indulged her. My doctor came in and I'm sure in an attempt to keep my mind off what was happening kept talking about her horse competition this weekend. I wasn't enthused and she looked at me funny for not responding to her. I really like her as my doctor but when I'm nervous I just clam up and think and I didn't want to talk about anything. So she starts the procedure all cool calm and collected and I'm reassured by this because she does them ALL the time and I know she's great at what she does. The needle through the skin I didn't feel because it was numb but I did most definitely feel the puncture through my uterus.lol Strange feeling by the way. Fluid was clear and she went on about 2/3 urine..1/3 lung blah blah blah. Then they did the BPP and she couldn't see my cervix because his head is blocking the view. The other lady used the probe to measure it but I guess she wasn't really concerned with me being 37 weeks. Then I went on the monitor and I was worried because his heart rate went to 186 several times. I've not seen his this high so irrational fears set in. I asked the nurse and she said it was great to have 9 accelerations in 20 min. strip or something like that. He had one decel but she said he quickly stabilized it so it was fine. So, all in all everything went fine.
I then went downstairs to pre-admit for when I have him. It has been ridiculous having to go through so many people just to make an appt. to meet with a really rude lady....I spent forever in that process for something that took all of 5 minutes total. But oh well..what can you do?
I called for the results of the hour test after the amnio and the nurse told me it had to be over 50. His was 111. Yay! I'm still waiting on the test from Atlanta to come back though to confirm all of that. I'm super crampy and not feeling well today so I've been resting. Getting anxious about him coming!
